Boaters was built in 2006 by a local architect in the style of a traditional sail loft with the emphasis on light and space. There are wooden floors throughout utilising modern building methods with an external lapped redwood cedar façade. The overall look ensures Boaters is totally in keeping with the sailing heritage of Yarmouth. It will sleep up to ten people in five bedrooms, spread over two floors. The bathroom is on the first floor with a shower room on the second and a loo on the ground floor. There is a large modern kitchen which can easily accommodate ten sitting at once and there is a small conservatory annex opening onto a fully enclosed decked patio with table and chairs; perfect for secluded dining. The sitting room has large French doors that open out to give a light airy space in the summer. This is a modern family home that is loved by its owners and provides a simple yet stylish holiday accommodation, perfect for two families or friends looking to spend time together. Start your visit with a stunning walk or cycle ride from Boaters along the Causeway to Freshwater. You can hire cycles locally and straight away meander along the cycle track taking in the picturesque river Yar. If you feeling livelier, just over three miles away is Compton Bay, one of the island’s best and unspoilt sandy beaches on the south side of the island. Alternatively, the closer beaches of Colwell and Totland Bay provide all water sports which makes Boaters an ideal base.
